Over a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB) has shared what has been learned through forklift training, what has changed, and how supply chains are preparing for a post-pandemic world.

Narrow Aisle, a manufacturer of Flexi articulated forklift trucks based in the West Midlands, has announced it is to halt production of LPG-powered Flexi models. Narrow Aisle managing director John Maguire said: “As a company, Narrow Aisle has pledged to operate in the most environmentally responsible way possible. Lithium-ion-powered trucks match the performance of LPG types but without the drawbacks of high fuel costs, noise and emissions, maintenance downtime and increasing legislation issues,” according to SHD Logistics

In a bid to meet the demand for forklift operators in an industry ‘screaming out for workers’, a Shropshire-based training provider has stepped up its forklift training programme. Shropshire Live reports that Dulson Training, which offers forklift training amongst its other services, has identified am increasing demand for forklift operators, and is now wanting to provide training to meet every licence or qualification needed for anyone who wants two work in the logistics industry.
